I used to study the Law of Attraction. That is until it became clear (to me) that we don’t really attract anything. We don’t create either, but instead, SELECT states of consciousness because creation is finished! It's a difficult concept to grasp, but it's what resonates with me now after studying Neville Goddard and going back to the bible.
Every one of us is always entering various states of consciousness throughout the day. The state we choose to occupy can reflect a belief at any given point in time. For example, I AM healthy; I AM successful; I AM depressed; I AM unworthy. It’s in states of consciousness, and through our beliefs and assumptions, plus our reactions to people and events, coupled with things imagined, we end up manifesting either what we want or do not want.
When we manifest, we aren’t drawing anything to us; we occupy a state where what we want to manifest already exists. Call it awareness or multiple dimensions or what have you.
A Deeper Understanding
Once I came across this information, it resonated with me and did not take long to sink in. Then, I started searching for a deeper understanding. The search has led me to revelations on scripture in the bible and the Zohar and various mystics' teachings. The bible states that all things exist [Colossians 1:16]! When you imagine something that you desire to have, it already exists.
You don’t attract it to you, but rather you occupy the state of consciousness of having it, and then it manifests. You aren’t attracting; you are manifesting. Manifesting is defined as “display or show (a quality or feeling) by one's acts or appearance; demonstrate.”
The State Occupied
The law of attraction is so popular but consider this...people manifest unwanted things too. But, do you ever hear anyone say, “I used the law of attraction to manifest this cold or this negative circumstance in my life?” Most people don’t admit to manifesting unwanted things because it usually isn’t done consciously.
The Law of Attraction, conscious manifesting, unconsciousness, God, Source, Vibration, etc.; all of it is leading us to who we are, our purpose to awaken, to our desires, and even to unwanted things. How you perceive the information you come across is for you and you alone. How you implement different teachings and techniques is for you to decide. If you believe in the Law of Attraction, then there is nothing wrong with that. It is just a belief, though, as are so many other things.
