The child and the lake was one of the more unsettling dreams I’ve had. The dream occurred on September 29, 2019. I dreamt that a small child fell into a lake, and at least three individuals went in after him or her. Like so many other dreams I’ve had, there was a sense of familiarity with those in the dream. I had the distinct feeling that I knew the child and those who dove into the lake after it.
Within a few moments, the water and people in it began to swirl around like a whirlpool, and the lake seemed to expand and grow deeper. I ran into a nearby office with tears in my eyes and screamed for someone to call 911. Then I left because I feared that the child had died, and I did not want confirmation of it. So, I left and never returned to the scene.
When I awoke from the dream, I was afraid of it being a premonition like the last dream of a car crash. However, as I sit here a year later (today is September 30, 2020), putting the notes from my journal into a blog format, there are a few things that stand out to me. The first is that the child and the lake were not a premonition at all. At least not in a negative way. I think the three individuals could represent three witnesses. The child could represent me and the lake; I’m getting the sense that it represents creation. I’m only getting a slight sense of these things and not a definite knowing/revelation as I’ve experienced with other dreams or mystical experiences.
