In these two passages from the Gospel of Thomas, I am going to explain the symbolism based on any revelation that I’ve experienced since my awakening in 2019. Much of that experience has come from my understanding of the teachings of Neville Goddard. However, some of the insight comes from revelation I’ve received while reading through scripture, which has evolved over the past couple of years. The passages are as follows:
(10) Jesus said, “I have cast fire upon the world, and see, I am guarding it until it blazes.” (11) Jesus said, “This heaven will pass away, and the one above it will pass away. The dead are not alive, and the living will not die. In the days when you consumed what is dead, you made it alive. When you come to dwell in the light, what will you do? On the day when you were one, you became two. But when you become two, what will you do?
As I have mentioned in previous posts on scripture, Jesus is a state of consciousness, the personification of the power and wisdom of God. At first, the passage reads as though actual fire as we currently know fire to be, was cast upon the world. However, in Hebrews 1:29 it states, “For Our God is a Consuming Fire.” Remember, the bible is all psychological truth, it is revelation and vision. So, the individual(s) who authored the books of the bible is telling of their experiences; hearing and knowing the truth of God and receiving revelation through the power and the wisdom that is that state called Jesus Christ.
God has cast himself upon the world. God is guarding himself until he blazes. This heaven within (the garment of flesh) and the heaven above, the one so many believe to be in the sky will pass away. The dead are those in a profound state of sleep. The sleep (this dream of life) is so profound it is likened until death. The living are those who have fully awakened, those who are called by the grace of God and have eternal life. In the days when you consumed what is dead (think of an old memory or unwanted experience), you make it alive (manifest by focusing your attention on it). When you come to dwell in the light (Jesus Christ – that state of consciousness that is the Power and Wisdom of God). What are you going to do? Are you going to believe the word of God or are you going to believe in this dead, shadow world?
On the day that you were one (When you were God – The Elohim), you became two (God became man in the flesh). But when you become two, what will you do? What will you do in this life? When you hear the word and you believe, what will you do?
